About Horners Garage in Swinton

Following the closure of the Rover main dealership, Horners Motor Group, in Manchester in 2008, two of the senior technicians Philip Rowland and David Gamble together with Deborah Rowland (finance and accounts) formed Horners Garage Ltd. in Swinton. Philip and David had between them 47 years’ experience and service as technicians within the dealership. Deborah, originally from a banking background, has 16 years of experience in company protocol and finance.

Over the years Philip and David have gained specialist knowledge in the field of Rover and MG cars together with a vast knowledge of all other makes of vehicles. Their problem-solving skills, especially with Rover and MG, are second to none. Both hold full MOT testers certification and level 3 NVQ in vehicle mechanical and electronic systems – maintenance and repair together with various other certifications for Air Conditioning, Advanced Rover Electrics etc. In June 2015 our technicians achieved an IMIAL Level 3 qualification in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Repair and Replacement, allowing us to carry out work on hybrid vehicles safely and efficiently, and keeping us up to date with recent technology.

Business has been brisk since trading started in December 2008 and the company’s client list has expanded with existing and new satisfied customers returning to the garage to have their vehicles looked after by our team.

Gina Morris joined the team in June 2010 bringing with her years of experience in office management and customer service.

Car sales was introduced to the business in 2012 and through its success, in September 2013, we opened our car sales showroom which incorporated a new customer reception/ waiting area complete with comfy seating.

We are proud to announce that in July 2015 we appointed our first apprentice, Louis Duff, who has come to us straight from school and is undertaking a course in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair on day release at college.
